Jonathan Cohen joins MDC2 as Head of Construction, bringing decades of experience in delivering complex commercial projects
His primary focus will be to ensure that construction projects are delivered on time, within a budget, safely and to the desired quality standards. Jonathan will work closely with Jeremy Cordery, Chief Operations Officer and Founder of MDC2.
“I’m thrilled to introduce Jonathan Cohen as our new Head of Construction. Jonathan’s deep industry expertise will be a great asset and with him on board, our team is growing stronger. His role involves overseeing and managing all construction activities, including planning, execution, project coordination, and control. It’s a big responsibility, but given Jonathan’s experience, I expect nothing but the best” says Jeremy Cordery.
Jonathan Cohen is a senior international real estate and construction professional with over 35 years of experience, including more than 25 years in Poland. He earned his degree from Leeds Polytechnic in 1992 and obtained full Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) accreditation in 1997 and extended this to Chartered Project Management Surveyor status in 2002. Since then, he has combined departmental and business management with hands-on project management, quantity surveying and technical advisory services for a wide range of real estate owners and occupiers across various sectors.
Jonathan Cohen has held executive or partner positions in development and consultancy businesses such as Gleeds, Avestus, CBRE and Colliers. While primarily focused on the office and industrial sectors, he has also worked on logistics, BTS (built to suit), BTO (built to own) and owner-developed manufacturing projects, totalling well over 1 million sqm for both owner and occupier clients such as Pimco, Coca-Cola, Arvato, Garmin and BorgWarner. He has frequently collaborated with developers such as Prologis, Segro and Panattoni. Before joining MDC2, Jonathan was a Senior Partner at Colliers Poland, responsible for Building Consultancy services across the country.
“The opportunity to work across various companies and roles has equipped me with a deep understanding of the motivations and needs of all stakeholders involved in complex commercial real estate and infrastructure projects” – says Jonathan. “Therefore, I always aim for my work to result not only in great spaces for business, but also in long-lasting business relationships built on trust and understanding” – he adds.
With a passion for sustainable development and a commitment to quality, Jonathan will play a key role in driving the construction of commercial spaces that not only meet current market demands but are also designed for the future. He seems to be a perfect fit for a company primarily focused on creating innovative and eco-friendly environments that contribute to the success of both clients, communities and environment.
