January 18, 2022, Warsaw: MDC2 – a developer of sustainable warehouse and industrial space operating on the Polish market, has reached an agreement with Fortress REIT Limited – South Africa’s largest owner and developer of core, premium-grade logistics real estate.
MDC2 Park Łódź South, located in Central Poland, announced its first collaborative project with Fortress REIT Limited today. This will be MDC2 ’s third logistics development and Fortress REIT’s third logistic park in Poland.
MDC2 Park Łódź South is designed with ESG at its core and MDC2 will certify the project to BREEAM New Construction Excellent. ESG is a cornerstone of MDC2‘s strategy – all buildings developed by the company are to meet the best practices and requirements of sustainable construction, i.e. 95% of construction materials per project are recyclable and roofs of its buildings are designed to be PV ready.
MDC2 Park Łódź South, to be developed by MDC2 and announced in September 2021, will accommodate a distribution centre located in Central Poland south of Łódź, at the junction of the A1 motorway and the National Roads no. 91 and 12. The project offers a leasable area up to 80,000 m2 of modern, environmentally sustainable logistics space, the completion of which is planned for Q3 2023.
“We are extremely happy to have acquired this project as it perfectly fits Fortress REIT Limited strategic investment profile. “Sustainable logistics and distribution parks are in demand in Poland, with more clients looking to have a robust and localised supply chain. MDC2 Park Łódź South, due to its central location, is a strategic fit for Fortress REIT as it sits in the heart of Poland’s main distribution hub.” – said Hadley Dean, Founder of MDC2. – “For the next decade, the Polish logistics market will continue to outperform Western European countries in the growth of both total activity and net absorption.”
